Junior Development Scholarship Program

Junior Development Participants 

CPTC sponsors an annual scholarship program for Junior Development program participants.

Tennis

There are two tiers for the awards:

Tier 1 - Tournament Tough - is geared toward junior players who show great tennis potential.  Recipients will receive a maximum annual award of $500.  There are six qualifications for the award and recipients must meet four out of the six listed. The qualifications are:

  • TennisParticipation in a CPTC sponsored Junior Development program within the past 24 months
  • Current paid CPTC membership
  • Letter of recommendation from CPTC member or coach
  • Previous private lessons from a coach experienced in tracking Junior Development
  • Participation in at least six USTA sponsored tournaments.
  • Serve as a mentor to CPTC beginners

Junior Development Participants

Tier 2 - Showing All Signs - recipients will be awarded a maximum of $250 that must be utilized towards supplementing fees for a beginner CPTC Junior Development Tennis program.  The award is geared toward beginners who show promise to develop into a tournament player.  A recommendation from a CPTC coach must be made on behalf of the participant.  Again, recipients must be CPTC members and Junior Development Program participants.

All candidates for the awards will be identified and asked to apply.  The CPTC Scholarship Committee will review all applications and make the final decision.  For more information on the program, please contact CPTC Junior Development Chairperson, Ron Mitchell at 773-221-8799.
